How to Join Us

Annual Membership to NZPTA and your Federation runs from 1 January - 31 December and costs $80.

Membership Options in 2008:

12 months (1 Jan 2008 to 31 December 2008) - $80
18 months (1 July 2008 to 31 December 2009) - $120

Membership Options in 2009:

12 months (1 Jan 2009 to 31 December 2009) - $80
24 months (1 Jan 2009 to 31 December 2010) - $160 less $20 discount = $140

What you get when you join

  • Information
    Our handbook has lots of useful information on starting and running a school parent support group; for example, roles and guidelines, accounting procedures, ideas for activities and running meetings. You'll get informative newsletters on items of interest to parent groups, upcoming developments in education, as well as local and national school events of interest. We also provide advice on all your parent group queries, and produce a variety of useful pamphlets. If you would like to have a discussion gathering, we can provide facilitators.
  • Influence
    NZPTA provides a strong voice for parents at the national level on issues that affect children and their education. We welcome all feedback on any educational issue of interest. Your membership vote helps us to represent issues to government and other groups.
  • Incentives
    There are always great prizes and special deals on offer for NZPTA members and conference attendees. In 2008 we have given away hundreds of dollars worth of Scholastic books and lots more smaller prizes and samples. It doesn't cost to belong to NZPTA, it pays!

Jump Jam Kidz Aerobix with Brett Fairweather at NZPTA Conference 2005

Brett Fairweather had everyone out of their seats when he presented his 'Jump Jam' Kidz Aerobix programme at the 2005 NZPTA Conference in Auckland.

After going to the NZPTA conference and trying Jump Jam, we knew that it was just what our kids needed. The PTA discussed the idea with staff and bought the first set for the school. It is now being done regularly at school and the kids are just loving it! Thanks NZPTA for giving us the opportunity to discover great ideas for our students!!!
